Sophie’s Coffee offers a wide variety of coffees both hot and iced. They also have sandwiches, muffins, bagels, and other baked goods. The staff at Sophie’s Coffee is friendly and makes sure your coffee is right.
The location right on Route 2 is easy to get to. Inside they have a good amount of seating and have WiFi. On many occassions in the morning I’ve seen groups of mothers and their young children enjoying time together. If you are looking for the traditional coffee shop mood it may be a turn off to you, but I enjoy the family friendly atmosphere.
The new location, next door to their old, has a larger seating area and has a more country feel to it. It doesn’t have as many windows, but they have made good use of the space by hanging more artwork. Overall you can expect the same Sophie’s Coffee, just in a different location.
I’ve had mixed results with the quality of the coffee at Sophie’s. At one point I could expect the same exact taste every time I ordered, but since then have noticed a variation. It was my favorite coffee shop as the taste was perfect. However, at some point it started to vary and I stopped going. Recently my wife brought me back an iced coffee and it was the original excellence. I will go back again and see if it’s consistent.

October 2nd, 2007 at 3:05 pmI have changed my rating for the following reasons: 1) The coffee is no longer consistently good. In fact, it’s been repeatedly not the same. I used to order the same thing, and get the same thing. Now it seams I order it and it comes out different. 2) It also appears the owner only hires female employees. When confronted he made up a reason why. I know of two people who applied for a job, and were male, and were told they’d get a call at the beginning of the summer. That never happened.
